Except morning routines… morning routines can bite me.
I am a morning person, I love sunrise and the peace of the world before 5am. It would be one of my favourite times of the day to just exist without judgement and chaos. But I also love the freedom that time of day gives me.
When my fiancé is at work, I am a little more routine based as he usually calls me between 4-4.30am so I endeavour to be free for that quick daily debrief of a chat and a morning pick me up and reminder that working in another country with an eight hour time difference will always be worth it. But other than that I am free for all.
There is always coffee. There is sometimes a book. More often than not writing my daily blog post is tangled in there somewhere. I let the cat in to curl up on the bed after her night time adventures of parkour around the house and I do let the dog out and then usually up on the bed for some snugs while I write. And occasionally, on days I get engaged, probably my wedding day, Christmas morning and my birthday, I am drinking Moët before 8am.
I am also the one who checks social media first..
BUT HEAR ME OUT! It’s my social network fam that I check on. There’s probably ten or so profiles I follow religiously and will continuously check on, engage, respond, throw shade at and mildly annoy.
Pro life tip, if I am not annoying you. We aren’t friends.
Once I get to about 6-7am, I am usually off on my way to pilates to regret all of my life decisions for an hour or I sit down and take a scroll through out budgeting spreadsheet because I’ve said it before and I will say it again where focus goes, energy flows my friends, just your daily unsolicited reminder to focus on what you want to grow.
AND THEN we get into the day.
Ask me tomorrow what my evening routine is because I have a cracker one that puts me to sleep by 9pm, every time.
And if you see me say goodnight on Threads, and I am back twenty minutes later.. assume I didn’t do my night time routine and mind yo damn business.
