Daily writing prompt
What gives you direction in life?

Over the last few months, I have really had to sit down and think about where I want to be in ten years. I left my job in October last year and since then I lacked a bit of direction, only because I am an extremely goal orientated person. When I was in Real Estate, I had my ambitions and I had broken my goals down into bite sized, daily tasks to keep me on track to where I wanted to go.

I achieved all but one of them.

Naturally, as a goal orientated and highly focused Capricorn, I have been floating through the last six months with no real sense of direction or idea how to make my new goals, a reality. That has since changed. My goal is to have a successful Mediumship and Spiritual Coaching business and I have finally begun to recreate my new list of daily tasks and non-negotiable actions towards growing that business.

Too often we get so caught up in the big picture, the end goal, the dream and this leads us to decision paralysis and overwhelm and we get nothing done – well, that’s how I respond at least. I learnt at a young age that breaking it down from the end goal, to a five year goal, to a one year goal, then monthly, weekly and daily.

When we know what it takes for us to succeed and it is as simple as three daily tasks, it becomes so much easier to stay focused when the motivation and excitement fades.

The map lets us know when to turn the car. So to stay driving, we need a map. My favourite tool for this is the MiGoals “Goal Digger” journal. If you’re ever looking for a brilliant daily journal to help you break down your big life goals into bite sized daily actions, look no further. CLICK HERE for the instant link to their website.

I also highly recommend reading the book “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. Brilliantly written and easy to read it is a top five in my opinion and it is a book I will endeavour to re read every year. CLICK HERE to purchase.

There are two things I am incredibly excited to announce about my ideas and I will be sharing my journey, as I share everything else, along the way.

Thank you for being with me,

Sarah x
