The ability to do what I want, when I want or need to, without the stress of financial burden.

So essentially financial freedom, is freedom.

A lot of people wonder how I got to where I did while being so sick, well, at least now that they know how sick I was. And the harsh reality is, I worked exceptionally hard through my illness because my number one priority was being able to afford health care. The level of commitment it took to peruse financial freedom for the purpose of being able to not only afford my medical care, but Nahlas as well created this bi-product of financial freedom in it’s wake.

I never sought to be rich or wealthy, I don’t need billions of dollars to enjoy my life. But to have the capacity to say that no decision I make is based around money is the single most important thing to maintain in my life.

I am alive today because not only did I have access to incredible health care, but I so heavily prioritised being able to afford the best of the best and ensured I got the referrals to get to them. The same is said for Nahla and her Leukemia.

The first year she was diagnosed, it cost us almost twenty thousand dollars to keep her alive.

Majority of this money actually went to the blood tests, scans and check up appointments though as in Australia, pathology and discovery for animals is not government subsidised so a blood test that was free for me, cost $250 for Nahla.

But there will never be a single ounce of regret over my choices and hard work.

We have financial freedom. We aren’t millionaires or impeccably rich. But no decision we make is money based, please don’t mistake this for making good financial decisions, we have plans and advisors and we budget constantly. But our goal in life is to experience as much as we can and that to me, is freedom.

Also – I am sorry I have been quiet for a while. Remember, I have endometriosis, retrograde bleeding, fibroids and a dog with stage five Leukemia. Sometimes I sleep for days on end.

But we are sorted again now and I am back for a brand new track.
